About Betty:
Betty Sweaters is the alias of Zion Quinn, a Multimedia Visual Artist, Video DJ, and Graphic Designer. Betty’s unique visual approach utilizes upcycled retro A/V technology paired with modern, computer-based art techniques to blend authentic analog, glitch aesthetics with contemporary 3D, CG, style animations.
In the same vein, Betty’s live sets (often) incorporate using various pieces of original and modified vintage broadcast hardware mixed with modern tech (PC/Resolume/Midi)--resulting in a visual experience that encapsulates the past, present, and future.
To expand on this format, Betty recently started Pulp! Video Lab– a curated B2B2B VJ experience, where multiple Visual Artists come together and blend their differing styles, tech, and artistic approaches to create unique, one-of-a-kind visuals for live music.
Also known for installation art, Betty is the creator of “The Hideout”-- a stage & art installation made up 30+ retro TV’s rigged for live visuals. Originally started as a small art installation at Fire Lights Festival '21, The Hideout has rapidly evolved into a full-scale visual art production and Fire Lights Festival staple. "The Hideout" and other media art experiences are now offered by Pulp! Visual Co.— a visual art collective started by Betty and maker/tinkerer/designer, Navonod (Donovan Loesel).
